Privacy notice
This page describes what Five to Fifty Growth collects when you visit this site or get in touch, who else sees it, and how to have it removed. It is written to describe what the site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality.
Five to Fifty Growth is a one-person advisory run by Rich Nigro. Questions about anything here, or a request to see or delete your data, go to rich@fivetofiftygrowth.com and reach him directly.
The contact form
What you send, and what is kept
If you fill in the contact form, what you type is stored so your enquiry can be answered and kept on record:
- Your name and email address
- Your message
- The time you submitted it
- Your browser's user-agent string — the line identifying your browser and operating system
- A one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address
On that last one
Your IP address itself is never written down. What is stored is an HMAC hash of it, which cannot be reversed back into the address. It exists only so that repeated submissions from one source can be rate-limited, and it is useless to anyone who ever obtained a copy of the database.
Submissions are also checked by Vercel's bot detection before being accepted, which is what keeps the form from being a spam funnel.
The data is held in a Postgres database and kept as long as it is useful for responding to you and keeping a record of the conversation. There is no fixed deletion schedule; email to have your record removed and it will be.
Third parties
Who else sees your data
No data is sold, and none is shared for anyone else's advertising. These are the services the site depends on, and what each one receives:
- Vercel — hosts the site. Like any web host it processes the requests your browser makes, including your IP address, and runs the bot detection on the contact form.
- Vercel Web Analytics — counts page views by page and referrer so traffic can be measured. It sets no cookies, does not identify you, and is not used to build a profile of you.
- Neon — provides the Postgres database that holds contact form submissions.
- Resend — delivers the notification email sent when the contact form is submitted, which contains your name, email, and message.
- HubSpot — analytics and CRM. Sets the cookies described below and records the pages you visit.
- GTM Partners — the certification badge in the footer is served from their site, so loading any page here tells them your IP address and browser. Nothing else is sent, and no data of yours is shared with them.
- Calendly — only if you follow a booking link. Anything you enter there is handled under Calendly's own privacy policy.
- GTM Partners / The MOVE Book — only if you start the GTM Assessment, which is hosted on their site and handled under their policy.
Your rights
Seeing, correcting, or deleting your data
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email the address below and it will be handled — there is no form to fill in and no account to log into.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you those rights explicitly, along with the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. The lawful basis for holding contact-form data is legitimate interest — you wrote to a business and it needs to be able to write back. The lawful basis for analytics cookies is consent.
